Successful Event for Mt Carmel

15 August, 2011

I was happy to open one of the biggest school fetes on Brisbane's south side on 7 August at Mt Carmel Primary School.

The fete is the main fundraising activity of the school and this year it provided 35 stalls and 9 rides. It is organised by the schools P&F association which is fortunate to have Glenn Pereira as its President. The P&F will celebrate the completion of a major project this year, the refurbishment of the school oval.

Many local and family businesses have supported this fete and I am pleased to commend all those who have worked so hard to make this day the tremendous success that it was.

Mt Carmel provides schooling for 368 families and 538 primary school students and I am delighted to be associated with this wonderful school ably led by Principal Mrs Margo Dixon.
