Cr Ian McKenzie joined the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland to celebrate the Dipawali Festival at King George Square on Friday night.

The festival was organised by the members of the federation headed by the hard working Surendra Prased OAM.

A highlight of the evening was Lord Mayor Graham Quirk being named honorary Indian for his services to the Indian community and to many of ethnic communities across Brisbane.
