SCODY Ride to Work Day

Cr McKenzie rode his bike from Holland Park Ward into King George Square to celebrate Ride to Work Day where hundreds of other riders met to celebrate riding.

Brisbane City Council has spent $100M on cycle infrastructure over the last four years and has created a real and relatively safe alternative for cyclists in Brisbane.

In his welcome speech this morning, Cr Norm Wyndham McDowall Ward, representing Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, emphasised that Council is keen to promote the active and healthy travel benefits of cycling which also reduces traffic congestion.

Bicycle Queensland provided a free breakfast for the hungry cyclists and encouraged them to make this a normal part of their daily work routine.
